When I saw an exclusive 53rd Filmfare Awards coverage, I went mad!

First of all I was already pissed off with Star Screen Awards 2008 Nominations as one of the most successful actor Akshay Kumar was missing from the nomination list. Even in Filmfare, there was mere single nomination for Akki. Well, at least he was nominated, something is better than nothing.

One of the much awaited movie of 2008 finally hit the screen today – Jodhaa Akbar, and as always how could I miss the first day first show, after all it had my long time dream girl Aishwarya :-) and I had to write this review…

Jodhaa Akbar is a pretty well made movie and gives you the deja vu of epics like Mahabharat, Chanakya and more recently Prithivi Raj Chauhan. Bollywood have not attempted something like this at least on such large scale. Despite strong story, backed by well established cast and crew, the movie does lack in the screenplay and editing department which disappoints you bit. Hrithik after dashing performance in Dhoom 2, still proves his versatility as Badshah Akbar, Aishwarya fulfills her role with panache and so does all supporting cast in this 3 hours 20 minutes historical love and war journey.

After getting married in a court few days ago, Sanjay Dutt eventually tied the knot with Manyata as per Hindu customs on Monday, 12th Feb 2008. The rituals took place at a Manyata’s friend Pradeep’s place at Andheri in Versova, Mumbai. Selected guests from the industry came to the function to give their blessings and enjoy along baba of Bollywood. Even his old time friend and his first wife’s brother Kumar Gaurav made to the function, who had missed Sanjay’s second marriage.

After rocking Star Screen Awards, Filmfare has released their nomination list. Well, for me Best actor should be awarded to Akki without any doubt. Afterall it has been Akki’s year giving four consecutive hits in a year (Namaste London, Bhool Bhulaiya, Hey Baby, Welcome), which is very rare in Bollywood. Even the ace Khan’s have not been able to give FOUR HITS in a row and in the same year. PARTNER still seems to be missing from the nomination list, which was the first blockbuster of the year. On the other hand am still confused why in the earth Rani & Konkona nominated for movie – Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. Well, Konkona for supporting, we can understand, but Rani for LCMD ?

So guys what are your guesses ?
