When I saw an exclusive 53rd Filmfare Awards coverage, I went mad!

First of all I was already pissed off with Star Screen Awards 2008 Nominations as one of the most successful actor Akshay Kumar was missing from the nomination list. Even in Filmfare, there was mere single nomination for Akki. Well, at least he was nominated, something is better than nothing.

First day first show, OMG !

The crowd, the hysteria and the cheers !!
2007 Diwali will be definitely remembered for very long time, courtesy – Om Shanti Om. It was fireworks full of stars on the screen and above all the shining moon – Shah Rukh Khan. Let’s clear few things first; Om Shanti Om is good combination all previous re-incarnation blockbusters like – Karz, Mehbooba, Karan Arjun and specially Madhumati regarding the climax. It has everything to make complete Bollywood entertainer – Stars, Music, Melodrama and mainly script. Undoubtedly, Om Shanti Om will be one of the blockbusters of the year, if not the biggest and credits – Shah Rukh Khan. Yes, I am the same reviewer who bashed Chak De India.

After comendable job with Parinita, Pardeep Sarkar, tries to repeat similar saga but fails to hit the chord. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is complete rehash of raunchy Juile along with run-of-the-mill sisterhood tv serials like Kasam Se, Beetiyan, Paraya Dhan…. Though Pradeep Sarkar have successfully captured the essence of Benaras and Ganga but doesn’t have any signifiiance to the ‘been there done that’ storyline.

In short Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is old wine in a new bottle.

You can’t believe that it’s the same person who made – Rangeela, Satya, Kaun, Company with such raw perfection. The rehash of Ramesh Shippy’s Sholay, titled Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag is nowhere near the orginal, had the movie been only 10% as intresting as the original then theater wouldn’t have been half empty even before the climax on the first day first show.

In short, RGV falters big time and as usual its us who lose of time and money !

It’s very sad to hear recent serial bombing attacks in Hyderabad which have already killed 42 people and more than 100 are injured. According to news media Aaj Tak;

Out of four bombs planted throughout the city, two blasted and two of them failed due to some technical glitch during plantation of those bombs. Hyderabad city has been under state of emergency since the blast (25th August 2007, 7:00 PM), all major malls and cinemas has been closed down to avoid further reprocations. According to crime branch and police unit, they have hinted its an organised terrorist attack supported by Pakistani ISI and another major South Asian Terrorist group. They have found few leads to the case and are further investigating to bring out those culprit.

Whatever may be the reason be it Relegion, Caste, Nationality PLEASE STOP SUCH TERRORIST ACTS !
KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE !!

Finally, Sanjay will have sigh of relief atleast for the moment. After found out guilty in 1993 bomb blast case, Sanjay Dutt was sentenced six years of imprisonment nearly 20 days ago. Sanjay had made a plea at supreme court for the bail, but was not yet been taken notice of. According to IPL, now Sanjay can be released on iterim bail today (21st August 2007).
After the news broke television media and Sanjay’s fan have been swarming around Yarmada Jail and his resisdence.

The anxiety couldn’t get higher, after all it was Shah Rukh Khan’s movie after long time. The Director claimed, Chak De was far superior to Rang De before its premiere. Well, we do appreciate Yash Raj Flims for trying something different from regular romantic tales BUT what the hell were the script writers thinking while making this movie ?

First half, they teach you how to play hockey in team spirit and second half is world cup hockey tournament showing almost all games that India plays starting from the league match.

Better than RDB !

As predicted in our review, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom had to smell the dust even on the first day itself. Well, that’s something no one in the industry had expected. Everyone had expected at least good opening weekend. Trade pundits are busy trying to figure out the reason for such disaster.
