Whenever there used be a fusion of Naushad’s music, Shakeel Badayuni’s lyrics and Rafi’s voice, that number would become super-duper hit. These three were quite a team then. Rafi sang more than 26,000 songs in all the national languages in his forty years long career in the film industry. He is the master of all forms of songs. He could sing ghazal, qawwali, geet and bhajan with equal ease.
The range of Rafi’s voice was very very high. This is noticeable from the number O Duniya Ke Rakhwale from the movie Baiju Bawara. Rafi revealed a golden voice of unrivaled tonal quality and range, which had the power to pitch lyrics from the lowest modulations to high soprano.

Naushad, one of the greatest music composers of Indian cinema is no more with us. The orcehstra of golden era of the bollywood, passed in Mumbai away on Friday, 6th May 2006. Born on December 25, 1919, Naushad came to Mumbai in the 1930s from Lucknow and became one of the most successful music directors of the Hindi film industry in the next two decades. Prominent films for which he had composed music include Baiju Bawra, Mother India and Mughal-e-Azam, all of which had achieved phenomenal commercial success.

Salil da obliged and was alarmed to find that young Lata had fainted. Moving sentiment is the hallmark of any Lata song. It is her ability to reach inside the lyric, to probe the nuances of moods, so skillfully balance changing cadences that make her so much in demand.

She confessed,
