In a small Indian village Mandwa, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) is taught by his principled father about the path of fire – AGNEEPATH. His life is completely shattered when the evil drug dealer Kancha (Sanjay Dutt) hangs his father to death. Vijay leaves for Bombay with his pregnant mother and has only one mission in life- to come back to Mandwa and bring back the glory of his father’s name.

‘Desi Boyz’ opens this weekend and even though it hasn’t been hailed as one of the most anticipated films of the year, it is still a keenly awaited affair no less due to coming together of Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. Till 2010, Akshay was seeing 4-5 films of his hitting the screens practically every year. However this year has been relatively quieter with ‘Patiala House’ and ‘Thank You’ as his only films so far.

If one compares buzz with these aforementioned films, ‘Desi Boyz’ is enjoying a much better response. Of course the hype isn’t as much as ‘Tees Maar Khan’ which stays on to be Akshay’s biggest opening film till date. Still, given the fact that there aren’t any negative vibes around ‘Desi Boyz’ and the film’s look is conveying a light hearted entertainer, it should turn out to be a safe preposition for all involved. All of this means that an opening in the range of 60% is pretty much on the cards and further to that word of mouth should take this Rohit Dhawan film through if the end product is impressive enough.

The Making of Desi Boyz

The film is about Jeevan (Shahrukh Khan), a Software engineer in Miami, who has a video game and always tries to beat his villain RA.ONE.

Attempting to connect with his teenage son, a Game Designer creates the ultimate video gamevillian. When the villainous program becomes self-aware, it escapes from the game and kills the father. Now hunted by the digital demon because he’s the only player to ever defeat him, the Boy must extract the game’s hero – designed in his father’s imagection. Together, the unlikely duo bond form a relationship they never shared as father and son while stopping the villian’s plan to enslave the world.

Singh is Kinng (Hindi: सिंह इज़ किंग, Punjabi: ਸਿੰਘ ਇਜ਼ ਕਿੰਗ) is a 2008 Bollywood comedy film. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the film also featured a music video with Snoop Dogg. About 75% of the movie was shot in Australia, around the Gold Coast region and Brisbane using an Australian production team (Instinct India).

Ta Ra Rum Pum (Hindi: ता रा रम पम is a 2007 film that stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. This is the second time the lead pair worked together after the success of their last film, Hum Tum (2004). The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, who directed the 2005 film Salaam Namaste. The film was a semi-hit at the box office in India. The plot of this film can be compared loosely with that of Will Ferrell’s Talladega Nights, as in this film the protagonist meets with an accident while racing and then makes a comeback destroying his nemesis race driver.
