‘EKLAVYA – The Royal Guard’ has completed it’s principal photography in a start to finish schedule on location in Rajasthan, with the entire star cast present through the schedule. The film has been shot at various exotic locations in Rajasthan. Besides shooting at the mesmerizing and sprawling Devigarh Palace in Udaipur, the film was also shot in picturesque locations in Jaipur and Bikaner. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘EKLAVYA – The Royal Guard’ promises to give it’s audiences a visual treat whilst showcasing an all new never before seen Rajasthan on celluloid.

Storyline

It’s that time of the year when Shahrukh Khan returns as an anti-hero once again. 50 days to go and the 3 minute long talkie promo has already done the trick by making people sit up and look forward to a high adrenaline action drama that is about to hit the screens. Farhan Akhtar, who has given a cool ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and a journey into a youth’s mind ‘Lakshya’ in the past, changes tracks to come up with a masala popcorn fare that gives you an impression as if you are watching a high tech Sanjay Gupta film.

Above dialogues mouthed by Shahrukh Khan in the background take the promo forward as an array of scenes unfold while establishing the character of a ruthless man called DON.

Gloss, richness and some technical wizardry form important ingredients of the look and feel of ‘Don – The Chase Begins Again’. Top angle coverage of the high rise buildings in the city of Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia] begins the proceedings to make you lean forward and keenly anticipate what’s next in the offering. A suspenseful music set in western mode plays in the background while there is richness all over with multidirectional flyovers and horse races interspersed with a close up of a designer pistol that provides a comic book angle to the thriller.

Soon arrives King Khan as he steps out of a car and the way it has been stylishly shot, the ’seetis’ and ‘taalis’ are guaranteed in the auditorium. An array of shots featuring the cast of the film begins from this point on with the focus on SRK’s character. He kills people, makes love and plays golf – all of them with ease hence making it all appear to be a normal day in his life. Meanwhile slow motion shots from a scene keep making an appearance as he walks down a corridor with a briefcase in tow with the camera intentionally leaving out his face.

A few seconds later he is shown traveling in a car on the streets of Paris [France] hence proving his mettle as a globally connected Don. The action sequences follow next where he makes full use of the martial arts training he received for the film and his flying kicks and punches just prove the point. Color black dominates the frames with black car, black jacket and black shades being a part of SRK. Some gadgetry action is in force too with wrist watches acting as timers followed by blasts covering an entire screen.

This is when the actual drama begins with a knocking sound on a door followed by the question of “Who Is This?” which is given a chilling one-word reply – DON! The signature music of ‘Arrey Deewano’ bought in its 21st century techno avtar results in a heavy rush of blood with SRK shown in a tight close up for the first time. Sirens of police cabs and bikes create a deafening ambience followed by a chase on the roads which guarantee a ‘paisa vasool’ outing for the movie lovers.

There is more to come as the characters of Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Boman Irani, Isha Kopikar, Om Puri and Kareena Kapoor are introduced one after another amidst all the chases, high rises and the pyrotechnics. The promo reaches its crescendo with SRK taking a free fall with gravitational force pulling him vertically down with his head pointing towards the earth!

Game over? Not yet because Don has a final statement to make:

“DON ka intezar toh 11 mulkon ki police kar rahi hai lekin ek baat samajh lo ki Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hai”!

Well we will see that Don because we are coming to join you in this chase when the film arrives all over on October 20th.

Storyline

The movie has Emraan Hashmi playing a twenty-seven-year old Saahil who runs a travel agency in the UK. Saahil is in financial crunch because his mother is suffering from multiple renal disorders. A lot has been spent on her medical treatment and more money is needed to save her life. So, to make the extra money, Saahil doesn’t mind duping his customers once in a while.

Then enters Neha (Geeta Basra), a beautiful, kind-hearted and simple girl who is on a holiday tour with her family. Saahil takes Neha and her family on a sightseeing tour in London. The moments Neha and Saahil share together make them good friends. But when he tries to con her family in order to make some extra money, Neha catches him red-handed. When Saahil explains his case to her, she only feels more compassion for him.

Things take a turn when Neha is left stranded in London while her family leaves for Scotland. Alone in an alien city, she urges Saahil to accompany her to Scotland. He agrees to take her there in a car. While on their way to Scotland, the closeness between Neha and Saahil increases. Soon she finds herself in love with him.

But when the two reach Scotland, Saahil discovers that his mother is seriously ill and must undergo treatment immediately. He tries everything in his power to raise the money. But he fails. Pushed into the tight spot by the unfortunate circumstances, he decides to take a desperate step – to sell Neha to a pimp.

The pimp to whom Saahil sells Neha works for Kunaal (Ashmit Patel), a suave dealer who does everything from running a prostitution racket to dealing in drugs and contract killings.

Saahil is able to save his mother from the money he gets from selling Neha. But his conscience doesn’t allow him even a moment of peace for having sold an innocent, unsuspecting and loving girl to a sex dealer. Besides repentance, he also begins to feel strong love for Neha in his heart.

Determined to make amends, Saahil decides to free Neha from the hell he sold her into and win her love back. But would he be able to fight the mafia.

And there is another problem too. Kunaal, the handsome dealer, has become possessive about Neha. He has begun to love her and won’t let her go at any cost.

Who wins the duel of love in the end remains to be seen.

Synopsis

An archeologist named Professor Kapil Acharya has an ancient map containing the route to a location that conceals a big mystery. So important is the secret that the professor chooses to die than to let the map fall in the wrong hands.

Years later, his son Vicky (Vivek Oberoi) comes across a copy of the map by chance. Vicky is a carefree, happy-go-lucky guy who loves to party, play pranks and flirt with women. The discovery of the map sets Vicky on the way to unravel the mystery that his father died protecting.
Jackie Shroff plays an archeologist named Bali Bhaiyya, who wants to get his hands on the map at any cost. There was a time when Bali was a respected archeologist. But greed blinded him and made him commit murder.

As Vicky sets forth on his quest, he is abducted by the bad guys. It is then Vicky’s half-brother Veer (Sunny Deol) comes to his rescue. Veer is a brave, brawny and nature-loving forest officer. He knows well the rigors of a jungle. After rescuing Vicky from the abductors, Veer wants his younger brother to give up the quest and return back home. But Vicky is adamant.

As the two brothers continue the quest, they are joined by an unexpected ally – a beautiful girl named Riya.

Sameera Reddy plays Riya, a bold and courageous girl who works for a TV show called Travel India. She is a girl who can go the extra mile for a good story.Guided by the map, the trio set forth on a quest that takes them through dense forests, cannibalistic tribes, deep ravines and rugged mountains. And they are not the only ones on this search. The bad guys are close behind.

What unfolds is an adrenalin rushing adventure ride with death defying stunts and action.
