Posted on 13. Jan, 2009 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Exclusives, Reviews
Its time for award ceremonies in Bollywood and here are the nominees for the 15th Star Screen Awards set to take place on January 14, 2009. So guess your best movies, actors, singers, etc. Last year saw the cropping of once again good meaningful realistic cinema like – A Wednesday, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Aamir, etc, at the same time all of these movies were small budget with not much so called BIG COMMERCIAL stars in it. Even newcomer Imran Khan’s Janee Tu didn’t disappoint the audience. We also saw steady growth of big stars in terms of B.O with Jodhaa Akbar (Hrithik), RNBDJ (SRK), Ghajini (Aamir), Race (Saif), SIK (Akshay). There were also some biggest disasters in this year – Drona (Abhishek), Yuvvraaj (Salman), Tashan (Saif, Akki, Bebo), etc.
The award show video will be posted online as soon as its aired only at musicNmovies.com TV Zone
Ghajini (2008) Movie Review – Definately Worth Watching !
Posted on 25. Dec, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
Ghajini has everything going on its side; Ace Khan (Aamir), Blockbuster script (in Tamil & Telegu), excellent promos and the Christmas season. But most of all a revenge story of a person who is suffering from special case of Amnesia, who can’t remember anything more than 15 minutes was more than enough to crowd the theaters from 7:00 AM in the morning. Aamir Khan’s Ghajini is far ahead compared to his peer khans – Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (SRK) and Yuvvraj (Salman) latest movies in terms of story, execution and performance. Despite most of the things going for the movie, the movie does lack few things in the editing department.
After not so frutiful year, finally something fresh hits the screen to celebrate.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) Movie Review – An Average Fare
Posted on 12. Dec, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
It’s very sad to see big directors falters. Despite a serious attempt to make something different from regular glossy Yash Raj Flims, Aditya Chopra fails to create magic with this years most awaited movie – Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Its not that the movie is complete crap, the movie does have some finest moments but in total due to lack of interesting plots and screenplay in second half the movie fails to impress in total.
Overall, an average fare.
Pinnacle: Kajol & Shah Rukh Khan dream sequence song in THE RAJ KAPOOR & NARGIS style.
Oye Lucky ! Lucky Oye ! (2008) Movie Review – Simple Story, Below Average Fare
Posted on 28. Nov, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
Abhay Deol, name associated with offbeat small budget cinema – Socha Na Tha, Ahista Ahista and 12:40 ki Last Local comes again with similar picture – Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. Oye Lucky Lucky Oye is a story of a thief who steals everything from cars, TV, music systems to pet puppies. Though the theme might sound exciting the movie isn’t in totality, the movie amuses in parts but due to poor editing and lack of strong narrative the movie falls completely flat.
Yuvvraaj (2008) Movie Review – A magic of choreography, art direction and music minus entertainment
Posted on 21. Nov, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
The much awaited Yuvvraaj finally hits the screen. The showman of Bollywood Subash Ghai, along with esteemed Cast (Salman, Katrina, Anil, Zayed) and Crew (Gulzar – Lyrics, A. R. Rehman – Music) comes with yet another musical post Taal. Expectations are very high and Ghai shaab once again fails to meet it like his previous debacles Kishna and Trimurti. Everything seemed perfect, music, the grandeur of opera houses, sets, never captured natural beauty of Austria and Prague but Ghai failed in most important aspect of the movie – Story & Screenplay.
Dostana (2008) – Shut Up and Act !
Posted on 14. Nov, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
The first movie of Dharma production (Yash Johar) was Dostana in 1980 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shahtrughan and Jeenat Aman which was blockbuster. Now after so many years his son Karan Johar along with new director Tarun Mansukhan comes up with GAY Dostana.
Well, what could you expect from KGay?
No offence to any group of people. But !
Mumbai Meri Jaan (2008) Movie Review – Sensitively written, Sensibly directed
Posted on 29. Aug, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
Recently, Yash Chopra was seen in media bashing his own script writers (Interestingly, his productions latest movie Bachna Ae Haseeno was written by his own son – Aditya Chopra and almost all others movies he is at least co-writer) for recent string of flop movies. When asked about Box Office disasters, he shrugged off the reporters saying there is crisis of good and creative writers in film fraternity. Well, have you would ever let serious writers ever in your studio? YRF wants sellable story writers with lots of glam or sham not serious and realistic story writers.
Lets leave that old moron (with due respect). Mumbai Meri Jaan is one movie that could be slap for YRF’s amturish script writers. Without a doubt, the debutant director Nishikant Kamat’s does wonder with such gripping storyline and much realistic presentation of 2006 Mumbai Blast. Superb screenplay, excellent performance by all major cast and perfect raw cinematography gives Mumbai Meri Jaan edge over other movies released last Friday.
Definitely a must watch movie.
Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) Movie reReview – Overbaked second half spoils valentine cake
Posted on 21. Aug, 2008 by musicNmovies.info in 2008, Reviews
Yash Raj Flims latest outing and one of the most awaited movie of this year – Bachna Ye Haseeno finally makes on silver screen and the reaction is mixed both from the media and audience. Even, Bachna Ae Haseeno fails to save sinking YRF reputation, at least in terms of quality of movie.

It is also one of those nicely packed, all gloss but no glory kind of cinema. Atmost, Bachna Ae Haseeno can be termed as average, one time viewable movie, that too if we leave the theater just before interval.
