These days, most heroes don’t want to disappoint their core audience. They know their fans expect the usual package. Ajith is a smart man, he knows what his legion of followers need from him. And he has provided just that, even though for most part the film moves on a formulaic pattern.
Ajith (Aalwar) is a young man who goes about his life quietly. But he is intolerant of injustices in society and raring to go and fight for public causes. The word ‘fear’ has no place in his dictionary. Vivek is his friend and he works as a ward boy in a hospital. Ajith comes to know from Vivek of the atrocities being perpetuated in the hospital. An agitated and angry Ajith contrives to join the hospital staff as a ward boy to expose the goings-on in the hospital.
Asin is a college student who romances with Ajith while making visits to the hospital to find out what he is up to. Malayalam actor Lal plays the villain.

Chennai Kadhal
With his innocent looks, everyone thought that he could not play professional killer to good extent. But, Mahesh proved his critics wrong once again in this action drama. Though movie started as a pure action oriented, it slowly goes towards family drama. With few hiccups which are quite natural in mainstream cinema, Athadu is a must watch for Mahesh’ performance, good music and lavish production values. Kudos to Mahesh.
