Bachna Ae Haseeno is inspired from many movies above all it drives main plot from Mera Naam Joker, yes Ranvir’s great grandfather - Raj Kapoor’s dream project - the critically acclaimed disaster movie of those days. An innocent guy falls in love with three different ladies at different stages of his life. Though original was soulful, meaningful and heart breaking tragedy movie, Bachna Ae Haseeno is contemporary, naughty and comedy love story where hearts break every second and the both celebrate. Siddharth Anand, the director of Salaam Namaste and Tara Rum Pum, who has always been fascinated by Hollywood movies and TV series, doesn’t miss this time too. So he adds - John Tucker Must Die plot into Mera Naam Joker. Plus top of the cherry - Teen Deviyan (1965) starring Dev Ananda & Nanda

YRF’s has always been strict regarding the script of the movie. They only give the stuff, which they want public to know about before the release of the movie - just to increase the hype. Like Karenna’s two piece shot in Tashan. But as usual we at musicNmovies have habit of sniffing around and finally manage to get out what we want.

So the cat is out of the bag. Bachna Ae Haseeno is nothing but pasta of Mera Naam Joker, Teen Deviyan and John Tucker must Die. How well it tastes it we will know once the movie comes out. But here is a quick outline of the movie;

Ranbir Kapoor plays Raj, an innocent looking with unintentional sex appeal, who loves to break ladies heart much more than win their hearts. He falls for sweet and innocent small town Amritsar girl - Mahi (Minissha Lamba). She truly believes that nothing bad will ever happen to her and that her path will be decked by rainbows and strewn with flowers. That’s where she walks, humming a happy song, with a Mills & Boon in one hand and her true love holding the other. But…, our Casanova was bound to dump her.
The story moves on to another girl - Radhika (Bipasha Basu). Three words describes her - Gorgeous, sexy and confident. Dancer by profession, she is today’s Mumbai girl living alone aiming to make it big one on the silver screen. Well, our Casanova even takes her onto ride. While Radhika was shedding off her stone cold nature and was about to share her softer side to Raj, she is also dumped. Poor girls, one small town conservative and another modern day metro resident, both lose the game of love. It’s then they meet their old time friend who is living in Australia - Gayatri (Deepika Paudkone). She is sweet yet gorgeous, she looks innocent yet is much smarter than most of the guys who hits upon her.

Gayatri makes a plan to teach lesson to this Casanova – Raj. The fearless Gayatri easily makes Raj fall in love with her. But as the revenge plan was about to take place, she falls for him. Will she be able to do full justice with her friends by taking revenge?

Apart from these four characters there is also another major character played by Kunal Kapoor. He is the lucky one who walks away with Mahi- Minissha in the end.

Overall the story looks fine on the paper, but it will depend completely upon director and actors how well they have worked. As its comical version of love tragedy, so much will be depending upon the screenplay and dialogues. Plus its editor’s job to cut off unwanted sequences irrespective of star power to flow the story smoothly.
