December

No rise or fall of a star has been as quite as dramatic or spectacular as that of Rajesh Khanna. From 1969 to 1972, the Rajesh Khanna phenomenon swept Bollywood off its feet and the hysteria he generated was unlike anything seen before and after.

Rajesh Khanna had 15 consecutive hits between 1969 to 1972, which is still an unbreakable record in Indian film

From evoking mass-hysteria, the once upon a time superstar is slipping into an invisible existence only to re-surface in projects that degrade him and everything he stood for.

Lost in Love: Raj Kapoor and Nargis

25

September

Ruddy-cheeked and light-eyed, Raj Kapoor was unmistakably Destiny’s blue-eyed boy. As a romantic actor, his onscreen romance with Nargis, fuelled by larger-than-life stories of their off-screen relationship, was a glorious chapter in the cinematic history of Hindi cinema. Raj Kapoor first showed his scene-stealing abilities in Mehboob Khan’s Andaz (1949), where he costarred with Nargis and Dilip Kumar. Kapoor played Nargis’s flamboyant but suspicious husband with aplomb. Flamboyance was his forte in other early successes like Dastaan and Sargam as well. Kishore Kumar - Yoodleeyoo ! (The Legend - Part I)

08

August

Kishore KumarKishore Kumar a name that is synonymous with the yodelling that started out in the music world many many years back when only classically oriented singers were giving the playback in the films. 4th Aug, 2006 was 77th birthday of the third side of the triangle he formed Mohammed Rafi and Mukesh.
