Dev D is a 2008 Romantic Drama film written and directed Anurag Kashyap as a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas.Though Devdas has been adapted on screen many times and by some illustrious filmmakers like P.C.Barua and Bimal Roy DEV D will still appear as fresh and riveting a tale of love lost and self-destruction.The film was conceived by Abhay Deol, and then worked upon by Kashyap.United Television (UTV) Motion pictures started a production arm called UTV Spot Boy to make small to medium budget films.
