Despite having dreadful start after swinging 2006, 2007 ended in pretty good note. Within last two months there were more than 5 hits, two of them being blockbuster, while others super hit. Well, those were November & December, but 2007 did have sluggish start. With miserable fate of highly anticipated Salaam-E-Ishq at box-office, all big banners were afraid to release their movies in the first quarter.






As usual Star TV & Screen Awards delcared this years nominations, and without a doubt once again we can clearly see the baisness. You will too notice once you look into the nominations. One of the biggest disappointment was missing of two most successful actors of this year from the nomination list - Salman Khan (Partner) & Akshay Kumar (Namaste London, Hey Babby, Bhool Bhulaiya, Welcome). Another only three actress - Aish, Bebo & Tabu in Actress list, hello where are - Vidya Balan (Bhool Bhulaiya), Lara (Partner) ?

After comendable job with Parinita, Pardeep Sarkar, tries to repeat similar saga but fails to hit the chord. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is complete rehash of raunchy Juile along with run-of-the-mill sisterhood tv serials like Kasam Se, Beetiyan, Paraya Dhan…. Though Pradeep Sarkar have successfully captured the essence of Benaras and Ganga but doesn’t have any signifiiance to the ‘been there done that’ storyline.
You can’t believe that it’s the same person who made - Rangeela, Satya, Kaun, Company with such raw perfection. The rehash of Ramesh Shippy’s Sholay, titled Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag is nowhere near the orginal, had the movie been only 10% as intresting as the original then theater wouldn’t have been half empty even before the climax on the first day first show.
The anxiety couldn’t get higher, after all it was Shah Rukh Khan’s movie after long time. The Director claimed, Chak De was far superior to
