The movie which gave Shah Rukh Khan, his first Filmfare (critics) best actor awards. This is one movie where Shah Rukh can be seen innocent and doesn’t do any EXTRA HAMMING romantic stuff that he does in Chopra’s and Johar’s movie. Its not just his fans, but even SRK himself admits this movie as his BEST MOVIE against all his box office blockbusters. Ironically, this movie had failed to create any boxoffice success, but due to minimal fees (Rs. 5000) charged by SRK, the movie was just able to recover the cost.

The film is about Sunil (Shah Rukh Khan), a small town guy of Goa. He has only two passions - music and Anna (Suchitra Krishnamurthy), his lady love. While he is hated by his father for his first passion, his second passion is impressed by Chris (Deepak Tijori) instead, another musician in their band. Fuelled by their blossoming romance, Sunil tries to create misunderstandings between the two but the truth gets divulged finally. How Sunil makes his journey to his love but finally decides to sacrifice it when he realises the reality showing his courage and purity is what Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is all about.

Though SRK’s character had negative shades it was loved by all. This movie was shot during his pre-Baazigar days and you can see rawness in his acting. It was also Kundan’s Hindi film after a long time (the first being Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron). He brought many actors of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron like Naseer, Satish Shah, Ravi Baswani into this film. The songs were also amazing. Among the best Jatin Lalit albums. Songs like Ae Kaash Ke Hum, Deewana Dil Deewana are still remembered for its freshness.
