TAARE ZAMEEN PAR isn’t one of those films that merely entertains, but also enlightens. Taare Zameen Par, which means Stars on the ground, is a movie is about a gifted child who is also dyslexic. The subject is handled sensitively by Aamir Khan, who is both producer and director.

Cast: Aamir Khan, Ishaan Awasthi

Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) is an eight-year-old whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate; colours, fish, dogs and kites are just not important in the world of adults, who are much more interested in things like homework, marks and neatness. And Ishaan just cannot seem to get anything right in class.

When he gets into far more trouble than his parents can handle, he is packed off to a boarding school to ‘be disciplined’. Things are no different at his new school, and Ishaan has to contend with the added trauma of separation from his family.

One day a new art teacher bursts onto the scene, Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), who infects the students with joy and optimism. He breaks all the rules of ‘how things are done’ by asking them to think, dream and imagine, and all the children respond with enthusiasm, all except Ishaan. Nikumbh soon realizes that Ishaan is very unhappy, and he sets out to discover why. With time, patience and care, he ultimately helps Ishaan find himself.

If you love children you will love this movie. I am sure the movie is going to walk away with awards…and kudos to Aamir the director! Although he happens to be my favorite Bollywood actor, in this movie I prefer Aamir the director.

    thanks for the movie. it is one of the best movies in recent times and highly recomended for the school teachers. i wish i had a understanding teacher like this. it is our duty to help kids to express themselves not to kill their hiden talents by putting society presures.

    Never a big fan of movie piracy…i recommend this is one movie for the theatres…trust me or trust me !!

    I am happy to see, this movie is not online.
    Just to let you know, I am a pirate myself.. I like watching online movies and p2p downloads but trust me on this one, this movie is worth a watch in theatre..
    Though you find this movie online don’t bother to watch it unless you have watched it in theatre 1s :)

    sad the movie isnt there to watch online….not everyone has a chance to go to the theaters or rather said not everywhere do u have hindi movies in the theaters
