Mere Baap Pehle Aap (2008) *MQ*

Priyadarshan surely has buckled up a pile of comic entertainers on his back. His latest release Mere Baap Pehle Aap is a decent film altogether. Likewise, Mere Baap Pehle Aap is not a complete joyride one wishes for. It’s unedited portions, particularly in the second half, makes the film longer by 20 minutes.

Deewaar (1975)

Deewaar a classic Indian movie, directed by Indian director Yash Chopra built upon the angry young man persona of Amitabh Bachchan.The movie came at a time when the lofty heights of freedom movements were dashed by stark reality of corruption that had steeped into the society.Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Vijay Verma, is said to have been based on the life of the Mumbai gangster, Haji Mastan Mirza.The film became a “superhit” at the box office in 1975, ranking in at number 4.

Parinda (1989) *The Best Thriller Ever*

The Most Powerful Film Ever Made

Parinda was the first realistic gangster film in Hindi cinema, and it spawned a whole new genre of thrillers. It is a story about two brothers trapped in the gang war, and the conflicting pull of duty and family. Even now, Underworld slang in Bombay borrows from dialogue in this film.

Parinda was a critical and commercial hit, and the official Indian entry for the Oscars that year.
