AFTER LYING low for some time the Padmalayas are back. The house which became synonymous with action-packed films in the 1980s fell on bad times with many films coming a cropper at the box office. Now, with “Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya” a remake of a super hit Telugu film the house aims to win over its old fans.Like many other Padmalaya ventures, is directed by K. Raghavendra Rao.In his endeavour to raise a few good laughs about middle-class couples facing an increasingly uphill struggle to make ends meet, he exposes us all to ridicule.
The writer-director Sanjay Chhel has come up with a wacky enterprise, ‘Maan Gayee Mughal-e-Azam’. Widely popular for his comic flair, Sanjay Chhel, the director for this comic venture has done great on this front of ‘MGMA’ (as far as his direction is concerned). The flick certainly sends laughs on your face. The well-timed one liners spell magic with the viewers.

Rajeev Kumar is a fantasy tale of a young man who dreams of being a king in search of his queen. The movie produced under the banner of Shogun Films Ltd. stars Arvind Swamy, Manisha Koirala and Dilip Dhawan in the pivot roles. It is a light movie..perfect enteratinment.
God Tussi Great Ho is based on the Hollywood film Bruce Almighty is a known fact. But what is commendable is that director Rumi Jafry has pulled it off without making it look like you are seeing the entire English film for the second time. It tells you that it’s not easy being God and also that God knows best! Even though this film preaches, it does so subtly; very cleverly sending across the message of love, peace and brotherhood.

See Govinda as a rustic bumpkin clad in crisp partly transparent dhoti and a dehati turban, swooning the village belle Sonali Bendre and admonishing the morally bankrupt newfound city relations in Mahesh Manjrekar’s second consecutive release after Astitva–Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rahta Hai.The film also casts Reema Lagoo, Shakti Kapoor, Shivaji Satam, Kishore Nandlaskar, and has Rinke Khanna in a cameo appearance.
After an offbeat debut in Swami, choreographer-turned-director Ganesh Acharya has tried his hand at comedy. And his new film, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, starring Govinda [Images] and a host of actors, sure is funny in parts. Money hai is a timepass film. It doesn’t boast of any path breaking script or performances, but is regular David Dhawan style zero logic cinema.
