The comedy drama “Hulla” has a trivial theme that has been extended to make it repetitive in the second half. The director Jaideep Varma should have added some more fun and subplots to the subject, to make it interesting. The script is new and performance of the lead actors is wonderful. The movie making style of “Hulla “is similar to “Bheja Fry.”

Like a fluctuating stock market, the graph of Saas Bahu Aur Sensex moves up and down before reaching the predictable climax. It’s unlikely to think of saas or bahu being interested in anything but idiot box, gossip, grapevine and back-biting.But in this movie, directed by Shona Urvashi, the ladies indulge in – apart from the aforesaid activities – some serious share trading with the help of a straight-talking and soft-hearted stock broker (an endearing Farooq Sheikh).Contrary to the adage, he turns out to be the man behind the women’s success.

Hari Puttar’ looks like ‘Harry Potter’ inasmuch as the latter as Godzilla sails on a 3 feet by 3 feet raft. “He is only a kid…” is something that is heard ever too often. But when a kid displays the valor and wit that is no child’s play and the presence of mind that belies his age, it certainly is no kidding matter. Hari Puttar is the awe-inspiring story of one such kid!

Ugly Aur Pagli is a wee bit slap-happy and a little bit slapstick film starring Ranvir Shorey and Mallika Sherawat. It is directed by Sachin Khot and produced by Pritish Nandy. It is about Kuhu (Mallika Sherawat) and Kabir (Ranvir Shorey).Kuhu appears to be overpowering Kabir and has a habit of slapping him.The movie is about love in a wicked style. But overall it deserves a tight slap for being utterly lousy on many counts.
