MAHENDRA Singh Dhoni’s young Indian team has won the inaugural Twenty20 world title, beating arch rivals Pakistan by five runs in the final. Ecstatic fans danced and showered rose petals on India’s victorious cricket team on its return home Wednesday after winning the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa.

R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (known prior to June 1994 as the Khetterama Cricket Stadium) is best remembered for holding the world record for the highest Test total - 952/6 declared by Sri Lanka against India in the first test of the 1997/98 series in which former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340 and Roshan Mahanama 225, the pair sharing the highest partnership for any wicket in Test cricket with 576 for the second wicket.

Superbowl season is heating up, so is our world cup cricket 2007 fever. Mercury is rising day by day. After searching on net for a while, I stumbled upon one of the classic cricket match - 1985 Sarjah Match. In 1998 Coca-cola Cup our master blaster Tendulker created a desert strom, but this match was well before that in 1985. The match was war between Imran Khan Vs. Little Master - Sunil Gavaskar.

The match which sealed India’s victory on the Hutch Cup 2006 (India - Pakistan) Series. After First ODI which we posted last week, this week we have 4th ODI, one fo the best matches which India ever played. Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is backing his injury-hit side to have enough firepower to level the one-day series against India on Thursday. India won the last two matches to lead 2-1 so Pakistan need a win in Inzamam’s home town Multan to stay in touch.
